Jun 2023AP Racing to supply parts to more than 80% of Le Mans grid
AP Racing, the world-renowned brake and clutch supplier, is set to supply a range of components to more than 80% of the cars on the grid – including the Garage 56 entry - at this year’s centenary 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking place on June 10-11.
The Coventry-based manufacturer will provide a range of calipers, brake discs and pads to over half of the hypercar entrants and over a third of the LMGTE Am competitors, as well as carbon brake discs and pads to all entrants in the LMP2 classification. The AP Racing Team will also be on hand to provide on-track supports for all entrants using the manufacturer’s products, with four engineers present for the duration of the event.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the iconic event brings together some of the best motorsport technology, teams and drivers for a demanding 24 hours of wheel-to-wheel racing. For more than 50 years, AP Racing has supplied parts to Le Mans teams, introducing innovative brake and clutch technologies designed to withstand the intense conditions of endurance.
David Hamblin, managing director at AP Racing, commented: “As we celebrate the centenary of Le Mans, there’s no doubt that it is one of the most significant events on the motorsport calendar and we’re proud to be supplying components to more than 80% of this year’s grid.
“Endurance racing puts motorsport engineering through its paces, requiring the best from driver, team and machine – so to provide products to such a large proportion of the grid is a testament to the quality of our work.
“Our partnerships with world-renowned race teams are undoubtedly thanks to the hard work of the AP Racing team, as well as our innovative, industry-leading technologies. We’re always excited to be involved with such a historic event and looking forward to seeing how the race unfolds.”
