Jul 2015New Emergency Clutch Release System
AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for race and road use, has introduced a new Pneumatic Emergency Clutch Release System.
The new actuator (CP9810 Series) is used to open the clutch without pressing the clutch pedal or pulling the clutch paddle in the car.
The unit fulfils the requirements of the FIA for an external clutch dis-engagement, to allow marshal’s to more easily move a stricken car.
CP9810 Units requires an external air source of 8 to 10 Bar and an externally mounted activation switch accessible to marshal's.
The emergency clutch release system is fully compatible with AP Racing’s CP4623 type master cylinders with no modifications required for the clutch. Master cylinder bore sizes need to be calculated from clutch release load and travel.
